Timeline for a donation to a nonprofit outside of the U.S.
You must be an employee of a company that offers international donations
Donations typically reach the nonprofit 1-2 months after the donation is made.
Month of donation
- A donation is made to an organization based outside of the U.S. on Bright Funds.
- A donation acknowledgement email is sent from Bright Funds Foundation and the status of your donation is “Complete,” which is the final status of your donation. An additional tax receipt may be requested from the nonprofit via ammado upon the donation’s disbursement.
Following month
- Bright Funds sends the donation total to Ammado for disbursement. The nonprofit will receive the donation via Ammado by the next month.
Donations are aggregated to the organization and disbursed if total amount is over 100 euros. If the aggregate donation total is under 100 euros, it is held and will be disbursed the following month.
Timeline for a match to a nonprofit outside of the U.S.
You must be an employee of a company that offers international donations and donation matching
Matching gifts typically reach the nonprofit 2-3 months after the matching gift is approved.
Month of match request
- After a match is requested, it is approved provided the donation meets your company’s matching gift policy. The status of your gift moves from “Awaiting approval” to “Awaiting transfer.”
Following month
- On the 1st of the month, an invoice is sent to your company for the matching funds.
- Once your company sends the matching donation to Bright Funds, it is queued for transfer to Ammado for disbursement and the status of your gift changes to “Matched.”
Month after Bright Funds receives matching funds from your company
- Bright Funds sends the matching funds to Ammado for disbursement the month after we receive the funds from your company. The nonprofit will receive the matching gift via Ammado by the next month.
Donations are aggregated to the organization and disbursed if total amount is over 100 euros. If the aggregate donation total is under 100 euros, it is held and will be disbursed the following month.

Credit grant donations typically reach the nonprofit 2-3 months after the donation is made.
Month of donation
- A credit grant donation is made to an organization based outside of the US on Bright Funds.
- The status of your donation is “awaiting transfer,” which indicates we are awaiting the transfer of the donation funds from your employer.
Following month
- On the 1st of the following month, an invoice is sent to your company for the credit grant donation funds.
- Once your company sends the donation to Bright Funds, it is queued for disbursement to the nonprofit and the status of your credit grant donation changes to “Complete.”
Month after Bright Funds receives credit grant donation funds from your company
- Bright Funds sends the credit grant donation to Ammado for disbursement the month after we receive the funds from your company. The nonprofit will receive the credit grant donation via Ammado by the next month.
