World Central Kitchen, Inc.
Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served hundreds of millions of meals around the world. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes with urgency to start cooking meals for people in need. WCK serves comforting meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly by partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of community members and businesses. To support economies, WCK purchases local ingredients to cook with or distribute directly to families in need. Food provides not only nourishment but also comfort, hope and dignity—especially in times of crisis.

Austin Pets Alive
Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is an animal welfare organization consistently on the leading edge in animal welfare innovation, known for an ability to rapidly design and implement effective new programs to increase lifesaving for shelter dogs and cats. Founded first as an advocacy group to improve lifesaving in the city shelter of Austin, Texas, in 1997, APA! transformed in 2008 into a rescue group actively working to end the killing of shelter animals, first in Austin’s shelter system, and then broadening efforts to the U.S. overall. An acknowledged national thought leader in the field, APA! works holistically to identify root causes of shelter deaths and address them through programs, education, policies, data and research.
